What happens when you try?

Download it to your computer in iTunes. Select "Download Only", then update your iPad when the download is complete. It's safer that way anyway.

After my update to iOS 6.1.2 the app store doesn't show me the list with the must-update apps

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

but...Attention...... IM MY CASE...... after the upgrade to 6.1.2 my ipad (3rd Generation, Wifi, Mobile, 64Gb) crash every day and I need to do a ITunes recovey process....

I´m oppening a case on Apple to investigate whats happening.....

Detail: I did the upgrade from 6.1.1 to 6.1.2 via WiFi.

here is the news.....

After a case opened in the Apple Support I went oriented to go to a service provide. Now I need to wait for 10 days to evaluate what's happening.

According with the Service provide representative they are receiving a lot of equipaments Ipads, Iphones and Ipod with a similar problem.

I really cannot believe that a problem originated in a software update need a hardware maintenance or replace.

I cannot believe that is impossible to donwgrade the version to IOS to 6.1.1

same here but i have tpod touch.... what to do now

bad news.... after one week the Apple service provide asked me to pick up the Ipad...but with no maintenance due my IPad was purchased in USA and I need to go to USA to Maintenance...(with the knowledge and approval of Apple Brazil).

I have no more IPad!!!!

Well, I cant believe!!!!! we are in a globalized world, we are talking about a multinational company.... whats happening here???

Ok, no problem APPLE!!!! now I´m very frustraded and disapointed with you!!

NEVER MORE I will buy Apple equipaments again...
