eMac parts in a Powermac G5 case?

I have a broken eMac with EMC number 2006. 1 out of 3 eMac's I got from a school for free, this one has a broken HDD which will be replaced. Vice principal who gave them to me said I can do anything to them AS LONG AS I DON'T SELL OR GIVE AWAY. But the question is, can you mount the parts inside the case of a Powermac G5? eMac's have built in screens and speakers, so what do I do with that, and how about mounting the parts inside? How do I do that? I have a slow PC with Windows 7 that I'm typing this on and I would love to have even an old outdated mac to use.

Hi, only parts would be the HDD, couldn't actually use them in the G5, but could put them in an external case to use.

Well, there isn't room to mount the screen in a G5 case, I imagine the speakers might be able to, but know nothing about the different electrical requirements of the two.

I imagine you could wire up the eMac as an external Monitor, but that'd be a job.

No no I put the eMac parts into the case but what do i do with the stuff for the screeen and speakers I'm planning to have a tower wiht external speakers and monitor

Oh, did you mean all along you have an empty G5 case!???

If so, then yes, a cheap G5 would be not only easier, but cheaper! 🙂

Also, if RIPSTEVEJOBS does have a G5 case, then it's probably worth about as much as a cheap G5 (hackintoshers like to use them).

I don't have G5 case and G5 cases are less than $100 but I found a $170 G5 for cheap at ebay

Should I get that to use after the shift-option-k store wipes it or geta case to put the parts in

all the case were gutted for hackintosh already and i don't want it like that

I think the $70 difference is worth it if it's a working G5.

Yes, I'm on a Quad G5.

... oh, that shift+option+k ?

So, if we're talking about installing an OS frome the  Store, it cannot be done using a G5 at all, 10.5.x is the Highest OSX a G5 can run, only available on an Install Disc.

Not that, my plans either to transplant a case with emac parts or buy one then get  to wipe and reinstall OS and so what if it's 10.5 my pc is windows 7 and my other one is windows 8 theyre slower than the emac

Ah, I hope Apple will restore 10.5.x to it, that'd be nice of them, if not...

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

minimum system requirements

* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

* DVD drive for installation

* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...
