Hi, I've a problem where the built in firewall is blocking good IPs, e.g. I get a priority 01717 deny IP from xx.xx.123.123 to any. These are just AFP users so shouldn't cause issues and because of the firewall can't access the sharepoints. Any recommendations?
Did you check your firewall settings in Server Admin?
Yes, i've checked and there's nothing obvious that would block specific IPs. It's blocking traffic from specific IPs to any so they can't connect in. It sets up new active rules and i can't figure out what rule is causing it.
When you turn the server's firewall OFF, does the problem go away?
Yes, turning it off and on again stops the problem for a while. I'm guessing something in the way their macs are requesting access is causing the alert.
Sounds like the issue is the server's adaptive firewall..
You may need to whitelist specific IPs.
