How can I sync my Classic iPod information in Lion

I have a great ipod Classic that holds my contact information, music and photos. If I had a Windows machine, I could update the info. Using my Mac in Lion, however I get can't sync message in Lion. If I fall back to Snow Leopard and try and update the ipod, I get a message about not syncing to the correct library. Both Libraries are identical. Why the %^&*() can't I sync my contact information in a product currently sold by Apple on a newer operating system?

You can only sync with one iTunes library that is why.

- If you want to switch syncing computers see:

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

- You can also manually manage music and videos among different computer/libraries.

Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

The problem is not syncing music in iTunes. The problem is syncing the Address book info with Info on the Classic iPod. It does not work in Lion. If you have a Windows machine with an iPhone, you can sync the Info, but not on Lion. I use the iPod as an address book and need to update some phone #s, addresses and add information. The Classic iPod is still sold by Apple. It won't sync information in Lion and Snow Leopard.

I was having the same problem. This started when iCloud came out. What I did was to go to System prefrences then select iCloud. Uncheck each item that you want to sync, such as contacts, photo's, calender, etc. This will allow you to sync to your iPod classic. Apple needs to fix this problem. Because if you use iPhone or iPad they will not connect unless you go back into iCloud and check these items again. Give this a try.

Thank you!!! It worked and now my iPod and address book have updated. What Apple needs to do is to make this information available. If it works, then that is the solution. Thank you again.
