    Connect the device to iTunes on your computer (you can do this with a USB cable or by wifi if your software is up to date). Select your device from the 'Device' list in iTunes (Top right corner in iTunes 11) and navigate to the 'Music' tab. Ensure that the 'Sync Music' checkbox is checked, select the items you want on your device and click apply/sync.
