How to Stop Contacts from Adding New Contacts to Group

When I add a new conact email address to contacts, usually from an email, it keeps adding people to my main Contact Group without telling me.

I think it is just adding the contact to the address book but it is also adding it to the Group.

This has resulted in sending sensitive group emails to people it was not intended for.

How do you stop Contacts from adding email addresses to a Group automatically?
