if my processor is a Intel Core I7 does that mean my system is 64 bit?
Your processor is 64bit. The OS may not be. If it's OSX 10.8.2, it's 64bit.

Well you can see for yourself.
In your Applications/Utilities folder open the Terminal.app and copy and paste this command:
ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | awk -F'"' '/firmware-abi/{print $4}'Thanks for replys this a great help....
