Itunes error when playing a video

I have the latest of everything and when i rty to play a video I get this error "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."

what do I need to do to play my videos??

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Try relaunching iTunes in 32-bit mode first, as per the instructions in the following document:

iTunes for Mac: Older media files may require iTunes to reopen in 32-bit mode
