Does this mean it will not work with a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter? I'd like to use my iMac as an external display for my work PC.

A DVI port on the PC won't help, needs MDP on both ends.

Possible solution, ScreenRecycler...

Thanks you. I am going to go a different route altogether now but I'm sure that ScreenRecycler would have done the trick.
