They've been known to fail from time to time during the update process. It's unclear why.
Get a replacement from your carrier.
Just updated to 6.1.2 and now my iPhone 4S says "SIM Card Failure" and I can't dial out. A reboot of the phone restores it temporarily but then it keeps happening.
I'm on Sprint here in the U.S. I read something about certain SIM cards not being compatible with software updates. KiltedTim, when you say "replacement" do you mean SIM card or phone?
HELP! 😟
Hi,
I would suggest you to,
Hold the Sleep/Wake Button {on the top right of the Device} and the Home Button {the one below the screen}
for 5-15 Secs until the Phone goes OFF and the Apple sign comes back. This will reset your iPhone BUT YOU won't lose any of your Data or Contacts or Preferred Settings.
Once the Device is back again working {comes on the Home Screen}, Connect it to iTunes.
Check It...
HOPE THIS RESOLVES YOUR ISSUE.
Abhishek D.K That's what I've been doing. Like I said above, it solves the problem temporarily but then it keeps happening.
Why connect it to iTunes?
Anyway, just reset Network Settings and will see if that helps. It appears a lot of people are having this issue after the 6.1.2 update.
So if that is the case Sim Swap is the only options as i would suggest....
I agree to your point and the concern that the iOS 6.1.2 has not only fixed some problems but also created some tremendous problems which affects our life...Battery Drains, Apps. Update Issue, iTunes Sync Issue, Network Latching..
Lets hope for the BEST if Apple can resolve this soon for us...
