No. but you can ask siri to read and reply to your text.
Is there an app developer there who would design this much needed app.?
This is getting on my nerves. Apple keeps removing my posts for no reson. This is the fith time I've replied. I hope it sticks this time.
The reason is you are sending me to a site for Jailbreaking the iPhone, which has nothing to do with my question!!!
You ask and I answered. That is where you will find the devs that will do what you're looking for. I'm not saying you should do it. I'm not saying if I condone it or not. I'm simply saying that such a thing exists. For educational purposes. 🙂
Posting hack/jailbreak solutions are not welcome on this forum.

Natively, you can respond respond to an incoming phone call with a pre-written text with just a tap. That's about as close to the feature you describe as there is. The best route is to submit your suggest to: http://apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I simply said that developers would gladly write something like that. But they were turned down by the app store and then I posted a link to articles on it. However, if my comments were still there, you could see I clearly said it voids the warranty and isn't allowed by apple.

That's an oversimplification. In order for such apps to work, the system software has to be hacked. Apple does not permit discussion of hacking of iOS devices.
Yes I'm well aware of the fact that it's oversimplifying but, as I wasn't providing a tutorial I figured it would be fine to simplify. I was merely stating that it was possible although most definitely not condoned by apple. 🙂
The only thing that matters here is that you were discussing hacking the OS. You can't do that here. It doesn't matter if it's possible or who else (other than Apple) approves or disapproves.
The ironic thing is that you all have discussed it more then me. 😉 I wasn't suggesting it I was merely answering the question that yes its possible and yes there are devs but apple doesn't approve it so you wont see it on iOS anytime soon unless apple decides to add it. I would definitely advise suggesting it as mentioned about. I'm sorry you all took offense. I had no idea that answering questions and providing helpful answers that explain why something doesn't work is frowned upon in this forum. I'll try and be less helpful next time. 😉
There are apps out there. Apple just needs to check them out and let the developer know if they are accepted or not. OTTERapp has Android and Blackberry apps. And of course there is BiteSMS. I think apple could just make it a configurable item like the forwarding of a phone call. It would make life so much easier for someone that has to carry a work phone and a personal phone.
Yes, Verizon users now have an app for that so download it. For AT&T users, no, but there is a work around. I am using it now and it works fine.
1. Downloand the AT&T Drivemode app
2.Turn off iMessaging in your settings on your iPhone.
3. Then, in goto settings in the AT&T Drivemode app, customize the message to state that you are on vacation rtaher than you are driving.
4. Finally set the phone in drive mode manually from the home screen from the Drivemodeapp and there you have it.
Now you can unplug from work and enjoy your time with your family!!
