My keyboard backlight on my Macbook does not work, when i press the keys on my keyboard (F5 and F6) nothing happens and in settings in keyboard it just says Adjust keyboard settings in low light, when i tick it or untick it nothing happens help please, Its a BRAND NEW macbook pro

Is it really bright in the room you're in? If so, it won't let you turn the backlight on.

When i go into a darker room nothing happens, and how do i know if i did the SMC reset correctly?
Read that entire document before you do anything. It's layed out for multiple models, make sure you do it for the right one.
I have done this one like 3 times, i dont know if it does anyting

I'd take it where you bought it because if it is defective, they'll replace it on the spot. You can request that within 14 days of purchase and they are supposed to allow it. If not, you can return the system and then buy another one again. That is, if it was bought from an Apple Shop. If you bought it from another reseller, their policies might be different depending on the store, but I wouldn't take any bs from them. If it is defective, request a new one on the spot and test this one to make sure everything works on it before you leave the store. They shouldn't deny this type of request regardless of what store it is. Good luck...
