my ical events wont sync to my iphone5

I've just bought a new iPhone5. I want to sync the events in iCal (currently on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.7.5) onto my phone but there are no events coming through. I've logged into icloud on my Macbook and it shows the Home calendar should be syncing, so I don't get it. I went into some of the events in question on my mac and they show they are in the Home calendar. Other things like photos are syncing between iphoto and ipod and iphone via my photostream ok, so I know the devices are talking to each other.

Please help.
