Motorola SBG6580 bridged to AirPort Extreme?

I saw a few answers on the subject here, but no detailed steps... and I need step-by-step instructions!

I just recently bought a Motorola SB6580 to use for 'lightening' speed with Bright House. The problem is that as a router it's worthless. I have a fairly new AirPort Extreme (3 months old, maybe) and I would like to disable the router portion of the modem and use the extreme as the router but I'm not certain how to go about doing this. I'm confused as to which ports I should use, how to use the Motorola "residential gateway" settings, etc.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

Clinton

Finally got it all up and running with my "lightening" fast speeds and my AirPort Extreme - I was following some of the directions which said to disconnect the coax - which didn't work for me - and I finally just followed the directions without unplugging the ciax, used the three different 'docs' that I'd found online and was able to get rid of the old NAT and bridge to my AirPort Extreme (with its much fast and more reliable speeds, syronger signal, etc.).

Thanks to all who pitched in here and in the other discussion (question wasn't mine there, so I couldn't reward with points!).

Thanks, again,

If there were many around here with the Motorola SBG6580, I'd write a User Tip about how I accomplished what was a difficult task to really figure out, what with all the documentation available on the Internet was non-AirPort Extreme-specific.

But now that I know I'll just add this forum to my watch list, should anyone encounter the same problems that I did.

Thanks, again, edex67 - you pointed me in the right direction.
