Iphone 5 Sim Failure?

I bought my iPhone 5 in Hawaii, its an open line. i live in the philippines, in Davao city. I got my Sun simcard cut for my iphone 5 in the philippines and used it for the first time,, it worked ok as i could text and call for a few hours, then suddenly my messaged wasnt delivered then something happened and all i can see on my phone are SIM FAILURE, INVALID SIM, NO SIM. i went to powermac, icenter to get it fixed but they dont even know. Because they dont support with technicak issues with iphones only ipad, laptops only. we dont have an apple store here. Today is feb 23, and my parents got it a week ago only, and i started using it a day ago.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.2

Get another sim card cut. Is Sun a supported carrier?

Yes, Sun is a supported carrier. And i tried different sim cards from 3 different carrier. Still the same problem.

If you are cutting a micro sim to make a nano sim that is likely your problem

I tried my sun sim card in a different iphone 5 and it worked fine, but with my iphone 5, other sim cards arent working and also mine, same problem happens.

In which case it sounds like it needs attention at an Apple store

if you have worked through the Apple document linked above

You will have to take it back to Hawaii as the warranty is not international

and only valid in country of purchase

They said it has an international warranty.... Problem is, theres no apple store in davao city...

if you mean the internal electronics ........nothing

If you or anyone other than Apple opens the iPhone

you invalidate the warranty and any future help from Apple

iPhone warranty is valid only in country of original purchase. You will

have to take the iPhone to the US or send it to a relative or friend

in the US for service or replacement. Apple will not accept international

shipments for repair nor will Apple ship internationally after repair.

Shipping costs and insurance will be your responsibility.

As as Peter Gillespie states above, if you or other than Apple opens

the iPhone, your warranty is no longer valid and you lose the right

to an out of warranty replacement should that situation occur.

I emailed alamoana apple store in hawaii but no reply :(Tthe iphone was never opened. The iphone just worked for a few hours and then sim failure. i think the iphone has a problem with its sim card reader. It says also, something about INSERT A VALID SIM WITH NO PIN LOCK.

That message is telling you the sim has a security pin code set

That is done by the carrier ,contact the sim card carrier for assistance
