How do I know whether my iPod touch 2 has any iOS?

iOS is the term for the operating system of the iPod. To tell what version of iOS you have installed, tap "settings / general / about" and it should display the version you currectly have installed.

When buying applications, you need to look at the "specifications" that software requires to work. It may require you to have a specific version of iOS software to work on your device.

I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation, running IOS 6.1.2. I understand you are having problems with your Ipod/Ipad/Iphone, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.🙂

• I am pretty sure any of Apple`s products have IOS in them.
• If you have Itunes downloaded on your computer, then plug Ipod into computer via USB, go to Itunes, and then click on your device, click on the summary tab. Then click on "Check for new update" (make sure your connected to internet)
• I do know, the latest IOS update is 6.1.2
• You could also see what IOS update you need to do by: SETTINGS>GENERAL>SOFTWARE UPDATE

That option was introduced starting with iOS 5, Thus, not applicable to the poster with a 2G iPod
