I just updated my MacBook to Mountain Lion. Now I can't find some of my files. I can open some of them by going through Recent Files, so they're still hidden somewhere. How do I navigate to my missing files?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion on my MacBook. Now I am missing some folders with numerous files. I can still access some of the old files by going through Recently Opened, so they are still hidden somewhere, but I can't navigate to them. How do I find and access my hidden files?
