My IPod is disabled and isn't recognized by itunes

We inherited an Ipod from my sister. She can't remember the password, and it is now disabled. I tried to connect to ITunes, but the device isn't recognized in Itunes! Maybe becasue it's not the original library, but we don't have record of that one anymore.

Please help!
