iTunes not recognising iPhone after restore

When connecting my iPhone to iTunes, it wants to either format it and make start fresh or use a previous backup, unfortunately I have lost my iTunes backup but I have made a backup using TouchCopy, a third party program, TouchCopy - www.wideanglesoftware.com/TouchCopy.

iTunes recognises this as a backup and lets me select it to restore onto my iPhone.

After restoring with this backup, which works perfectly, and then selecting the iPhone in iTunes, it's as if i'm plugging in a new iPhone again.

What could potentially fix this, as I do not want to lose all the data on my iPhone?

Thank you in advance,

Matt
