Kernel Panic Starting in Safe Mode

My (Intel) iMac is not starting, I get the questin mark-folder icon and while trying to start in Safe Mode i keepgetting thie following Kernel Panic Message:

Hope someone can shed light on me on whats exactly going on and posible resolutions. Thanks in advance to anyone for any assistance!

Hi,

Your hard drive is really messed up it seems, can you boot from your orignal Install Disc?

Hey BDAqua! Thanks for your time.

I can boot from the install disk. I did and tried Disk Utilitys/First Aid/Repair but grt this error:

Incorrect Block count for file: Node 12181390

(It should be 2304 instead of 8076)

Invalid Node Structure

Rebuilding Catalog Tree

The Volume Macintosh HD could not be repaired.

Error: The Underlying task reported failure on exit

So Im stuck!.. Any Ideas!?

You must repair the HD, if Disk Utility or fsck should fail to repair it, your best bet is DiskWarrior from Alsoft, you'll need the CD to boot from if you don't have another boot drive...

Unless you can afford to erase the drive & start over.
