email address invalid in web forms

When ever I try to enter my email into a website it always says its invalid. So If i am entering a contest on Disney.com or trying to buy something on Amazon. This happens if I am using Safari or chrome and even if I dont have the auto fill enabled. I am sick of it and it has happened since I got the macbook air in Dec 2011. Why is this happening?
