MacBook Pro wifi connection problem...

I have a MacBook Pro (2012) using 10.8.2 OS X.

When I try to connect to my wifi it will not connect.

I then go to the preferences and use the network assistant. I follow all of the steps. When I get to the network password I type in my home wifi password.

It says it is incorrect BUT...the strange part is... it connects anyway! This is all well and good except I must do this everytime I want to connect which is becoming a little annoying (ok a lot annoying). It won't save the changes. I tis always the same. Says the password is invalid but connects. Why does it say it is incorrect if it connects?

The issue seems to be with the password. Nothing wrong with the router since it seems to work fine after I connect.

Is it a problem in a keychain? airport? All my other devices connect no problem. ( ipad, phone, old macbook, friends devices...)

Still searching for a solution. Any suggestion is a good one. Thanks!

You can use Keychain assistant to Repair your keychain.

You can toss out the password for your Router in keychain and have it save a new one.

------

You can use

System Preferences > Network > WiFi ...

... stop to authenticate ...

...( Assist me ) > ( Assistant ) ...

... and set the whole thing up from scratch including a new "Location".

I got a network/internet connection problem without changing Ethernet/WIFI settings after a week of not using the MacBook Pro.

After a long time calling Apple support and resetting/deleting the keychain and network settings user accounts, which did not help i was directed to reinstall OSX.

One last try i found this solution which seems to work fine for me, resetting the DNS cache.

I have exactly the same problem. Dual band Belkin router w/ Apple Express connected via ethernet cable (for AirPlay). All worked fine with number of devices attached without a problem.

MBPR connects fine with Apple Express, however since last week when trying to connect to wifi channel on Belkin router, I am required to enter the WPA2 password. A message appears "invalid connection. Nevertheless connection is established and working. When switching to Apple Express (no problem , password picked up from keychain) and back to Belkin I have to re-enter the Belkin password again. I removed all Belkin entries from the keychain, but problem still exists. Belkin password is not stored in keychain.
