I used an online service (Zamar) to convert a short video from mov to avi. I got a message: The document could not be opened. The movie's file format isn't recognized. What's the problem?

I used an online service (Zamar) to convert a short video from mov to avi. The downloaded avi file wouldn't open. I got a message: The document could not be opened. The movie's file format isn't recognized. Yet avi is shown as one of the extensions recognized by Quick Time. What's the problem?

If you do not have Quicktime 7, try installing it From Here. It will be installed in your Applications/Utilities Folder.

If you need to after the install, Get info on the AVI file /Open With: Quicktime 7. Then Select "Use this application to open all documents like this one"
