I gifted a friend an app. It is not in the email.

I gifted someone minecraft pocket edition to their email. She is saying that it isn't showing up in her email. It's a gmail account. Usually I receive an email confirmation when one of my children purchase an app. I've received nothing. I also checked that it be sent immediately. Now I can't find it on Apple's site and she can't find it in her email. Am I out 7 bucks?
