I am trying to connect my time capsule through ethernet for the first back otherwise it takes too long... however even the green light is on my mac book pro does not see it ... any suggestions
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)
Plug the TC into the MBP .. press and hold the reset until the front LED flashes rapidly.. this will restore the TC to router mode which you need to do this backup.. you cannot use bridge as it is not available then without the rest of the network. Ignore all the problems.. do the backup.. then put the TC back to original setup.
TC resets do not do anything to the data on the drive.
