I have a new look in settings, but not listed is general settings. I am watching "how to videos" and they start with general settings, but I can't find the general settings. It is frustrating. Thank you in advance.

General is not there
All iPads have a General menu. Keep looking, look for the gear icon. The placement may be different based on the model of your iPad and the version of iOS you're running, but it's there.

Tap the Settings icon. General is the 6th or 7th item down on the list (depending on whether your iPad has 3G or not) - immediately above Sounds.
General has the same icon as the Settings app itself.
What iOS are you running? In iOS 6, General is the 6th one down on the left.
I am an idiot! I had to pull the menu down. Thank you for the quick response!
Tap Settings > General
Go to Settings, then General and then what you want to address.
Unless they really mean just starting at Settings which lists all of your destinations for further changes.
You have to tap on the settings icon and then you'll have different settings on the left and there you'll find "General"
Are you running in iOS 6 ?
On my iPad, tap Settings and General is the 7th item down the list.
