Q: iMac has set up new user after migrating files from old PC and I cant login to that new user, what do I do?
As thread title. Brand new to the world of Mac and wishing I had stayed with Windows already.
It seems I need a password to have a p**s as far as Mac's are concerned.
OK, so wanted to migrate all my music from my partners old desktop PC onto the iMac and then put it into iTunes. Migration Assistant worked wonderfully and 3 hours later, I return to the Mac to sort out iTunes. First problem is that I cant find the music files. There's about 48Gb, so not easy to hide. I eventually discover that a new user has been set up by the iMac in the name of the PC that the mp3's migrated from.
I cannot log in to this new user! Even with Administrator rights, using my Apple ID and resetting the new user password, I cannot log in to this new user account and retrieve the music!! Crazy, but there you go. Apparently I'm meant to go into Keychain and sort it out, unfortunately, Keychain is only looking at my details and not revealing the new user. To be honets, I couldnt tell you how Im meant to change anything in Keychain, even after pouring through the hideously written Help guff that comes with it.
If this machine had not cost me so much money, I'd be hurling it out of the window at this point. It's Sunday evening, I would like to listen to my music and so if anyone can shed any help, light or hammer, then I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you
iMac, iOS 6.1.2

Thanks Eric,
The music is not currently in iTunes. It is a collection of album files within folders by band name in My Music on the PC. Do I take it that it would be better in the long run to import my music into iTunes
As your music is disorganized (for iTunes) I think the idea of importing into iTunes from the disc is an excellent idea, no need to create a folder structure that you don't want. No need to copy and paste at all.
