iPad Mini unable to send iMessages and FaceTime

I am having an issue.


I have setup iCloud on my iPad mini and enabled iMessage and FaceTime. When I try and send a message I see the contacts with the blue bubble. I select and type some blurb. However when I send the message it fails. I have tried the following.


Checked that the iCloud service is working

Checked that my email is the registered email to iCloud

Reset my devices network settings

Also, I am able to connect to safari and browse sites


So what am I missing? Are there any troubleshooting methods I can try?


The device worked previously. And quite frustrated now.


Your help will be appreciated.

Some other things to try include:


  1. Go to Settings>General>Date & Time and toggle Set Automatically off and on.
  2. Verify that you are signed into your Apple ID in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime and that the ID is verified. If you are signed in, try tapping the ID, signing out, then signing back in.
  3. Disable any firewall on your router, and make sure the ports that iMessage & FaceTime use (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4245) are open.
  4. Check that your router is set up for iOS devices as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199.

Thank you Randers...


Still not working 100%. Problem is, skype calls come through no issues there. But FaceTime and iMessage are intermittent. One minute they work and for the next 24 hours it doesnt. You can stand right next to the router and nothing....


Question is, is there anyone else suffering from this issue? and is there a solution?
