My husband's Macbook Pro has been shutting down on its own so yesterday I updated it to Mountain Lion. It's now worse. Does anyone have suggestions? We are tearing our hair out.

Thanks. But I read what I could vind via google and apple.com before posting my question. Only thing I haven't tried is the SMC... I need to go into a Mac shop for that and it's a holiday today (closed).

He found that after I posted and it didn't work. So he'll take it in to a Mac shop to get cleaned and see what else they can do.
This is so frustrating. He's working on a job with a short time limit. I agreed to update his computer to see if it'd help and it only made it worse. I did warn him but he said to go ahead.
