itunes isnt working with my ipod

I went to charge and put new music onto my Ipod Touch and suddenly none of the library shows except for a few purchased songs. (most of my library that I have on my ipod was not purchased thru Itunes. I cant access any of my library so what the heck happened?

All my updates are recent. I just want to access the library and view whats already on the Ipod so i can clean it up.
