Q: how do i backup my ios laptop to a Hard Drive

I bought a Hardrive 2 years ago from apple and never used it. Now I would like to backup my Apple Laptop iOS to my hardrive. I have no idea how to start. Please help.

    Need more info.

     

    You state laptop iOS, however, Apple laptops don't run iOS system software. They run OS X software.

    You posted in the iPad forum, but your question seems to pertain to a laptop. Can you better explain what you want to do?
