I need to create and hotspot but I can't...why?
Verify that your carrier supports Personal Hotspot for your device and that you have Personal Hotspot enabled on your cellular plan:

Feb 25, 2013 2:05 AM in response to Medoro1982by Medoro1982,Hi all,
and thanks for quickly answer.
I have an IPAD 2 and in the main menu I can't find the Menu "Personal Hotspot"
I am sure that my SIM support the hotspot option.
In internet I found that "Personal Hotpost" is enable only starting from IPAD 3.
There is someone who have an IPAD 2 and use is as hotspot.
I haven't iphone or another apple device...only IPAD 2
Thanks
Federico

Feb 25, 2013 2:06 AM in response to Medoro1982by Diavonex,Checked with your carrier to see if they support it on the iPad
If they do support it then you should have a Settings > General > Network > Personal Hotspot option

Feb 25, 2013 2:10 AM in response to Diavonexby Medoro1982,From table below you see that hotspot is enable only from IPAD 3..
I can't believe that is impossible with IPAD 2 ;
I Spent 500 $ (very poor android support this feature)
Could apple create an app or an IOS update to enable this feature also in IPAD 2??
System requirements
The table below lists the iPhone and iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular models) capable of Personal Hotspot and which connections they can use to share cellular data with another device:

Feb 25, 2013 2:59 AM in response to Medoro1982by IpadinParadise,I just want to make sure I understand this - if I enable personal hotspot on my iPhone 4 thru my carrier (a t & t), it is NOT possible to setup my iPad 4 wifi only to use this personal hotspot to gain Internet access while I am away from my home?
I do not like public wifi so I was hoping that it was possible to use my iPhone as a means of Internet connecting away from home. Otherwise, if you already have an iPad with cellular, why would you need to pay for a personal hotspot for your iPhone.

Feb 25, 2013 3:12 AM in response to IpadinParadiseby stedman1,If you enable the hotspot function on your iPhone 4 you WILL be able to connect your iPad 4 to the signal, as well as any other WiFi enabled device.

I know that the response was for specific question from IpdadinParadise.
I hope that someone "genie" will create an app (free ) to enable hotspot also in IPAD 2

Feb 25, 2013 3:40 AM in response to stedman1by IpadinParadise,Thank you for the quick response, it seemed from all the links here that you had to have an iPad with a cellular plan capability. Sorry to have come in on the iPad 2 post.

Mar 11, 2015 7:30 AM in response to Medoro1982by Zizou1410,It is really unbelievable from apple! I have an iPad2 and when I bought it the question (if there is a hotspot "feature" or not) didn't come to my mind! I though it would be silly to ask such a question!
