my iPad won't connect to Apple TV

Question

my iPad won't connect to Apple TV

I have updated latest software on iMac, iPad, iPod and Apple TV, and also reset the Apple TV. I now find that I cannot connect either the iPod or iPad to Apple TV. Where you would expect the Apple TV icon to appear on iPod or iPad screen, it doesn't. Previously, before all of the upgrades it all worked perfectly.

Help please

I am unable to her my iPad to connect to my Apple TV on a regular basis. My iPhone will. My iPad has on a few occasion, and I can't seem to find a reason why. I have tested the above suggestion but it hasn't seem to solve my problem.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Restart your mobile device.

Many thanks for your help. I am back online with Apple TV. I think that it was item number 5 that did it, I restarted my router. Everything else had been checked and checked again. Thank you again for a clear and concise reply to my original question.
