Since upgrading to iOS 6.1.2, I, too, have been having sound problems, but with my earbuds, with one side or the other being either full of static, or only faint sound. It is inconsistent, and does not always happen. Also, some songs in various playlists skip randomly, and others cannot be played when selected. This never happened before this release, and I use the iPod function of my iPhone 4s every day.

Also, the first time I downloaded an app, the iTunes store recognized my iPhone as a NEW DEVICE downloading an app for the first time, though I have had it since October, synced it many times, and have downloaded many apps. When I looked at my iTunes Store profile, my purchasing history was empty, even though I have purchased several apps this month.

iTunes Support says this (the download part) SOMETIMES happens after an update. I asked them if it happens sometimes or every time, since it has never happened to me before. No reply. They did not address the skipping issue, either.

Anyone else with similar issues?

Same here ... upgraded my iPhone 5 to 6.1.2 and within a day or so my external speaker just stopped working. No sound from ringers, speakerphone, videos, games, etc. and it's deplorable that this bug was somehow missed when testing the update.

I did not make the connection, but my phone ringer has not worked since upgrading to 6.1.2, either. I keep thinking that I have "vibrate" on, but it's just that the ringer isn't working. I hope this is a known issue.

My phone's sound works intermittently now. Very very annoying. I can't listen to music or watch youtube videos without headphones. Also, I can't hear text messages or emails. Surprisingly, my phone ringer still works. The only thing I can think of is that I installed that **** iOS 6.1.2 update. Now my battery life is actually WORSE. So so frustrated. The last thing I want to have to do is spend an hour on the phone trying to figure this out. Now I'm paranoid about installing updates until I've waited a while and read feedback. The last thing I need is some crucial part of my phone to stop working!!
