While traveling out side of US, do I need both a 220v converter and plug adapter to charge phone?

I've been told that the iphone automatically converts so only a plug adapter is needed. But I have also been told that you absolutely need a 110 to 220v converter too. Anyone who travels outside of the US with their iPhone regularly please help! Thank you.

No. Apple power supplies work with voltages between 110 and 240 volts. Stop listen to those who tell you otherwise.

You will need pin adapters to adapt the flat pins to the various configurations used in other countries. These are usually available in kits.
