burn a cd with with auto launch containing photos and documents

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to burn a CD or DVD which would launch automatically and show a menu to the user, from which files could be easily accessed. The files would be a pdf document and photos.

Ideally I would like the menu to be editable (background photo, title etc...). I understand an autolaunch cd would likely only work on mac if it is made with mac software, but if there is a solution to create a menu which will autolaunch on pc or Mac, even better.
