Q: Not able to copy movies to my ipad2

Feb 25, 2013 10:55 AMby Skydiver119,Couple thing to try. If you're on a PC, try putting those files in the 'my videos' folder on your computer (located on the same level as my photos/pictures, my documents). THen try importing them from there.
With the SD card, try renaming your videos to a name of 8 characters...mymovie1.mp4 for example. THen put that file in a folder named DCIM then try hooking that SD card up via the camera connection kit. You cannot previes off the card so you'll need to import the movie into your device, watch it then delete it.

1) Tried putting files in Videos folder on my laptop but it doesnt seem to give me any option to copy.drag and drop doesnt work either
2) Tried with SD card.Followed your suggestions but this time the SD card was recognised by ipad.i got message - "No Photos to copy" though there were around 5 files in .mp4 and .avi format in SD card.
Putting itunes snapshots below.
Please suggest.

The first thing you must do is ensure that your files are H.264-compliant. You can use free encoding software like HandBrake, which has an iPad preset, to properly encode your files.

Feb 26, 2013 6:17 AMby Skydiver119,If these are premade digital copies then the digital rights managment encoded in the files may be preventing their transfer. I know one digital copy I had only allowed me to have on a singular laptop and singular device and when my computer died, the access to the copy died with it.
