i movie

I have transferred movie files from i movie onto DVD creator. (I do not have i-dvd).

However, when I go to burn the movie from the creator - it gets stuck 50% of the way through and says "preparing data". It does not go any further but later my DVD ejects and there is nothing on it - the computer reads it as blank.

Can anyone help me as to why this is happening??
