Revert to OS X Lion

I have recently installed OS X Mountain Lion on my MBP and it has slowed down dramatically.

I was curious to know if when I installed Mountain Lion that my system made a resotre point hence so Ican revert to Lion

I didnt use time machine before hand so iether I have to reinstal Lion alltogether, or there is some Mac Feature that lets me go back.

Please help

Time Machine is the Mac Feature that lets you go back.

How much RAM do you have? While 2GB is min, 4GB is better.

If you have enough RAM, it is likely some third-party software conflict slowing it down.

Sometimes, reinstalling Mountain Lion will help.

I've got the Late 2011 MBP running with 6gb RAM

All that is running is the basic apps. I might dissable iMessage and iCloud. But other then that I dunno.

Then either try some of the things I suggested, or erase the drive and reinstall Lion. You'll have to do that from Internet Recovery to get Lion back.

Most people's experiences have been the opposite. I found that Mountain Lion finally brought my machine back to being snappy again, as it was in Snow Leopard. There can be many reasons for a sluggish system following an upgrade. You can find some reasons and some potential fixes here:

Otherwise, unless you have a full system backup from when you were running Lion, using something like Time Machine, you will have to erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch. If you decide that's what you want to do, post back and someone can give you detailed instructions.

Same issue here. MBP late 2011 . I should have stuck with Lion ....MT Lion slowed me down. Turned off icloud and notifications and message but still slow. Cleaning out some of my stuff to external HD and now what.

Has anyone had sucess going backwards?

It's a LOT of work to go backward. You have to do a complete nuke and pave.

It's really easier to figure out what's slowing down your copy of Mountain Lion and fix that, than to go backward. The odds are it's something simple - perhaps an application compatiblity issue. You do need to employ some basic troubleshooting techniquest though.
