I just purchased an iPhone 4 used. There is no carrier listed in the settings on the phone. However, the phone does not recognize the sim when I put it in. The Internet will not open either even when on wifi connection. Can anyone help please?

That's probably because the phone is locked to a particular carrier and you are using the SIM form a different carrier. You will need to find out the carrier the phone is locked to and then contact that carrier for an unlock.
How do I find out the carrier it says no carrier in the settings of the phone.
