I have update 4.2.1 supposedly. This is my first iPod so I have no idea what else I can do to update. I really want to update it because I can`t download hardly any apps because it`s either incompatible with my iPod or the software is updated enough. Which ***** because I don`t want to feel like I wasted my money buying it. ;c

Both 2nd and 3rd generation models had aa 32GB version, and it sounds a though you have a 2nd generation model, which cannot be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1
Look on the back of your iPod, at the very small etched text. (I need a magnifying glass!) If it says Model No. A1288, then it is a 2nd generation model.
Awh man, then this thing is practically useless.
Well, it can put your music Library onto it and listen to the songs, display photos you've synced from your computer, and can be used to listen Podcasts. You can still use Safari to browse the internet via a Wi-Fi connection. And the stahdrad APps, such as the Notepad, are still useable.
So, practically useless, except for those things.

I guess i'll just find more music to put on it.
I was kind of hoping I could use it for games and such. The other stuff like podcasts don't interest me as much. The connection thing bothers me as well because I can't play or use whatever apps I have downloaded with out Wi-Fi. This is practically my first apple product. My phone is an android and it uses 4g, do you know if any of the new ipods can use 4g and stuff? I'm pretty sure the iPhones have it though, right? ;o

I don't know much about 4G, but you need to study the specification for 4G and Apple's Cellular and Wireless, since 4G works differently in some countries, to others. I believe it's referred to, by Apple, as Cellular and Wirelsss because of these differences.
