iTouch Stuck in Recovery Loop

Post recent software update, iPod Touch 5th Gen has gone into a recovery loop. For some reason the software update did not go through as planned and put the iTouch into recovery mode. It connects to iTunes (on an imac) and is recognised as an iTouch that is in recovery mode, software update/recover process starts but does not complete and goes back into recovery loop. Is there any solution?

Maybe:

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.

Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
