Is the polar h7 in pairing mode?
Does it support bluetooth?
Have you read the manual for the device and followed the steps on pairing it with another device?
I face with same problems. I use polar h7 with my iPhone 4S in runtastics and digifit apps. It's working properly before I update to iOS 6.1.2. After update finish digifit and runtastics cannot pair with my polar h7. Any body help
Ps. I already test polar h7 sensor with my polar watch it is working.
Yes, I have the same experience: the Polar H7 device worked properly with Runkeeper on my iPhone 4S until I updated to iOS 6.1.2. I've read about some tricks which I tried without any results; also replacement of the battery didn't help. And trying to pair it with the Polar Beat app on an iPhone 5 didn't work either.
So, is there somebody around that can confirm that the H7 device is still working properly with whatever app on an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5? This to see if we can exclude the update to the new iOS is causing the problem - and that I only have to swap the device with another one (while still in guarantee period). Thanks!
Because the Polar H7 is a Bluetooth LE device, it will not pair like older Bluetooth devices (ie. they will not appear on Settings > Bluetooth configuration menu even if it's paired). You'll need to have Bluetooth enabled but, you'll need to be inside an app like PolarBeat or Wahoo Utility to pair it up.
I've found that sometimes, the device needs a "hard" reset to pair-up properly. (Especially true if you've paired it with other iPhones or iPads, etc...) To perform a hard reset, remove the battery from your Polar H7 heart rate monitor and drain any remaining charge by shorting the battery terminals with a paperclip. Put the battery back in, strap on the device and relaunch your fitness app (PolarBeat). It should then pair-up fine.
Thanks ewoo, that was my problem. I opened two of my apps that have Bluetooth Heart Rate sensor features and both picked up my heart rate immediately, even though it doesn't show in Bluetooth paired list on my 4S.
That was my problem too

Confirmed that pulling the battery and shorting the battery terminals fixed the connection problem to me as well. I tried resetting the sensor by pulling the battery and waiting 6 minutes as suggested on the Polar website, but that did not work. I guess there was still charge left in the device.
Thank you!!
This worked for me too. I think the key detail is to "strap it on", thus connecting the terminals on the H7. Until I put my finger tips on the terminals (the snap connectors on the H7), the iPhone could not find the device. Thus, apparently the connection is enabled by the conductivity of your body, which limits the battery drain when you're not wearing the device.
