Q: Deleted SMS appears on search results

It's a bug.

You can disable Messages in Spotlight Search - that won't eliminate it, but won't make it searchable.

Log a bug with Apple also.   The more people do that the better chance they actually fix it.

To remove this data from your phone requires restoring as a new device. Either that, or you live with it. The data will eventually be overwritten as you use your phone.

pdroth considers this a bug, as obviously you do as well. However, its been like this since the beginning, and the fact is, many users consider it a feature. You can make your feelings know here:

Everyone seriously I'm not a expert but everyone is questioning this. Don't mess with the spotlight search settings. Instead go to setting> general> reset> reset all settings ... Do that and research what you don't want your girlfriend to find lol
