My iPad has twice attempted to download an update via my iMac27 & iTunes and failed with 'Unknown error 3014'.

My iPad has now twice attempted to download the offered update via my iMac27 & iTunes and failed each time with 'Unknown error 3014'.

I am fully up to date with all software on my iMac, including iTunes, & my iPhone.

However, after a the system prompt for 'new software available for your iPad' and a protracted download (20-odd mins), iTunes informs that the installation failed due to the Unknown error type 3014. At this point, iTunes advises me that a newer version of iOS 6.1 is available.

Can you please advise what to do?
