I have an iPhone 4 and when I play some game apps that require server connection, it will often fail to connect to server on certain wifi.
At home, I have no problem with usage of these apps but if I am outside and I connect to school wifi, the apps wouldn't work.
If I use 3G, it would work normally so I think it has something to do with wifi sercurity.
Is there any way around this problem?

Why not ask your school IT department.
I'm sure since your in school, that wifi is best suited for other use, than playing games.
Sounds like your school may have blocked those connections. Probably to keep control of their bandwidth usage.
It might have to do with WiFi security, but as I read your post, the first thing I thought of was WiFi speed and/or signal quality.
Some apps might require big fast downloads, much as watching a video would. So if you have a slow WiFi connection, you would expect that activity to be problem-laden.
Bandwidth - was the word I was looking for.
I said school wifi as an example.
Sometimes it could be free public wifi.
But other free wifi like Starbucks, the apps would work just fine.
So maybe it has to do with high security on school wifi.
Connectivity/Speed isn't an issue because wifi is pretty fast and connection is stable.
