I have a Max OS X 10.6.8 and the only has pages installed. I have been a mac consumer for many moons and I still like Appleworks. How can I get this installed? Also am using Safari....

My newly acquired macbook does not have Appleworks installed. The finder gives this info.....

file://localhost/Volumes/AppleWorks%206.2.9%20Updater/AppleWorks%206.2.9%20Updat er BUT

then it informs me that the default location for this install could not be found and will not be installed.

I am a long time user of mac and appleworks and would like to have this installation. Please advise.

thank you.....

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

AppleWorks has pretty much disappeared. It is no longer in production and hasn't been for about 8 or 9 years. If you search Google you may find a download for the last version that was a universal version and worked on Intel versions of OS X. I would assume it is not installed on your system, hence, the error message.
