no luck at all getting this fixed, i still get ical emails so i can add them that way, but i really liked when it popped up and asked me?

You probably need to set your iCloud calendar preferences for in-app notifications, as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mma527d46.
already set to "in-app notification"? i cant figure this out to save my life?
Try changing the setting to Email address, save the setting, then change it back and save it again.
nope didnt work, still getting emails but not the event invitation window on my iphone,
Not sure what else to suggest. Perhaps you need to change and save the setting, then wait a few minutes for it to update with the server before resetting it. If it persists, you'll probably have to contact iCloud support for help or try setting up an appointment with the Genius bar at a nearby Apple store for assistance.

I kinda doubt it's an issue with your phone.
it works fine on my wifes phone, and on my moms phone, but it doent come up on mine, i just get the emails. frustrating!
Probably a longshot, but you could try having the calendar owner remove you as a participant, as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a8f9f, then invite you again.
none of my calendars are shared, never have been. It worked perfectly for so long??? ugh!!! lol
