Logitech Performance MX vertical scroll issue

Hi, been looking for exact problem, but didn't find anything truly helpful, so I'm asking here, if, first of all, anyone has the same issue as I. Mouse has a switch for a scroll wheel. Mine works faulty on click-to-click mode. To better explain it: even when mouse set to click-to-click mode and I move wheel just a tiny bit so wheel doesn't "roll one step", scroll bar moves. It's as if "click-to-click" mode doesn't work software wise. Mechanically it has its steps (in click-to-click mode), but software doesn't recognise it.

Another noticeable annoyance is when scrolling down, all seems to be fine, but up - wheel registers some spin as opposite. Basically it scrolls less upward than downward.

I tried mouse with and without original Logitech drivers. All the same.

Is it just me? Maybe my mouse is faulty and I can get a new one replaced.

Thanks everyone.

I'm think you've pinned down the problem: mice do go bad. We have about six LT MX310 mice on our family Macs. One is on a Mid 2011 iMac running Mountain Lion and it works fine.

In the many years we've used the MX310, we've had one go bad, and it was the scroll wheel that went out after an accidental zap of static electricity.

FWIW, this forum is for Mac hardware made before 1998. I started to ask that it be moved to Mtn Lion but figured, heck, I've got that one covered 😎

My mistake choosing the category.

No, Apple's mistake for not using intuitive forum labels. This isn't the only forum section with poor label wording!

Apple didn't provide a forum for third-party products but mouse issues can often be handled in the forum for whatever OS version the poster is using because it can involves system preferences. If you wish more input, I can ask the Hosts (mods) to move you to the Mtn Lion forum. Moves have to be requested and you need more points to request one yourself.

My concern isn't about cluttering up this forum but rather getting more eyes on your question, This forum section needs a discalimer: "Warning: Very few people will see your post here."

Let me know if you want me to request a move.

Have a great day,

Allan
