iPod Touch 4G WiFi Appear/disappear

Hi people,

Today i have a big problem, really annoying. Last week, my Internet crashed and there was no wifi (from the router) so I couldn't connect to the Internet.

During this week, I shared the connection with my father's iPhone so it worked until my router works again. I stopped the sharing, and connected to the WiFi of the router.

Since this moment, I have big problem with WiFi on the iPod Touch, for example, i'm on facebook or FaceTime and the wifi logo disappear few seconds, i lose the connection, then appear.

I tried all solutions, restart the router, restart the ipod, hard reboot on the ipod, reset network parameter on the ipod.

Always the same problem, it's really annoying now, i don't know what to do

I can't restore the iPod, because my computer crashed, and i don't want to lose all my files

Please help me find a solution, even if it's not THE solution, just propose what you think

Thanks

Regards.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?

Do other devices now connect and stay connected?

What was teh cause/resolution of the original internet problem?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. done

- Power off and then back on the router. Done

- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings Done

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

The problem doesn't come from the router, i tried at my grandmother's home, same problem, it come from the device.

I'm really afraid because if I do it, it's on another computer which don't have itunes and others stuffs

I don't wan't to lose all, and i'm not sure that a back up will fix the problem

On itunes, if I save the iPod and I restore it with a backup, the problem will be back, no ?

Problem -> Save

Back up -> That save -> Problem

I don't understand so much

I don't understand, it's more than one month that my girlfriend and me don't make facetime call coz of that problem, really boring.

And 3 days ago, we wanted to try again, after hundrer cut of the call, it worked again without any reason

Since 3 last days, we can use facetime without cut and I don't understand why, the wifi get stabilized :O

I did nothing, it just stopped

An idea of why ???

I didn't even restore it

Found the problem ! It's was so simple omg

BLUETOOTH !

Ma girlfriend used the bluetooth in her car, and when she was back, same problem as before... I just asked her if she changed anything on her ipod, she said no. Facetime has crashed, and she came back and told me "let see now"

And no problem anymore ! I asked her what she did, she stopped the bluetooth

Then i found this : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1365

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not friend ! If someone has the same problem as me, try it !

Pour les français : Le problème vient du bluetooth qui fait des interference avec le wifi, d'où la perte du signal. Désactivez le bluetooth et regardez le résultat
